The short version

This website does not ask you for anything. There is no account to create, no form that submits, and no tracking of you across the internet. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we keep what you send so we can answer you.

Who we are

8Mountains, based in Pokhara, Nepal. You can reach us at8mountains.info@gmail.comwith any question about your data, including a request to see it or have it deleted.

What this website collects

Nothing you type. The newsletter form on this site is currently disabled and does not accept or transmit an email address. No other form on the site submits anywhere.

Server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes requests to this site and keeps standard technical logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. This is on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a working, secure website.

No analytics, and no cookies. At the time of writing we run no analytics and this site sets no cookies of its own.

The map

Our office location is shown using Google Maps. It does not load automatically. Nothing is sent to Google unless you press “Show map”, at which point Google receives your IP address and may set cookies undertheir own privacy policy. That choice is yours, and the address and a plain link are there whether you press it or not.

If you contact us

When you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we keep the conversation and any details you give us — your name, your dates, your questions — so we can plan a trip with you. We use it for that and nothing else. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.

WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is subject to its own terms. If you would rather not use it, email works just as well.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to how we use it. Email us and we will deal with it. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Where your data goes

We are based in Nepal, which is outside the European Economic Area and has no EU adequacy decision. If you contact us, your message is read and stored in Nepal. Please bear that in mind when deciding what to send us.

Changes

When we add the booking call flow or turn the newsletter on, this page will be updated before those features start collecting anything. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
