Female-Led Trekking in Nepal: Why Women Guides Change Everything
“Female-led” isn’t a marketing word for us — it’s how the company is built. Here’s what it actually means on the trail, why so many women travellers ask for it, and how it keeps trekking fair to the locals too.

What is a female-led trekking company, and why does it matter?
It means the treks are designed and guided by women — not just a male owner who assigns you a male guide. For many women travellers, that changes everything: you ask different questions, walk at your own pace, and talk openly about things like periods at altitude, toilet stops, or feeling unsafe. We’re a Nepal-based team of local women guides and leaders, so the advice you get is first-hand, not borrowed.
Is it empowering to trek with other women?
For a lot of our trekkers, yes — it’s the part they remember most. There’s no performance, no “keep up with the men”. Just a small group moving at a human pace, sharing the hard climbs and the silly moments, led by women who’ve done this for years. People arrive as clients and leave as friends.

How do you make trekking ethical and fair to locals?
We hire local women guides and porters at fair wages, stay in family-run lodges, and keep our groups small so villages aren’t overwhelmed. A share of every trip goes to health camps and clean-ups we run in the communities we trek through. Ethical isn’t a slogan for us — it’s how we were raised to do it.
Is female-led trekking more expensive?
Not with us. Because we cut out the middlemen and use our own local guides, our prices are fair and transparent. You pay for a real guide who knows the mountain — not a logo.
