Which Nepal Trek Should You Choose? EBC vs ABC vs Langtang (2026)
“Which trek is right for me?” is the #1 question we get. Here’s a no-fluff comparison of the three most-asked routes, plus the best picks for beginners, short trips, and quiet trails.

Everest Base Camp (12 days) — the classic
Higher, longer, and undeniably epic: you walk beneath Ama Dablam to the foot of the world’s highest mountain. Best for fit trekkers who want the bucket-list payoff and don’t mind altitude. ~$1,050 with us.
| Day | Route |
|---|---|
| 1 | Fly to Lukla (2,840 m), trek to Phakding |
| 2–3 | Namche Bazaar (acclimatize) |
| 4–6 | Tengboche, Dingboche, acclimatize |
| 7–9 | Lobuche, Gorak Shep, EBC (5,364 m) |
| 10–12 | Kala Patthar sunrise, return to Lukla |

Annapurna Base Camp (8 days) — the accessible epic
Shorter and lower than EBC but still front-and-centre under the Annapurna massif. The best first “big” trek — great for fit beginners. ~$650 with us.
Langtang Valley (7 days) — the local favourite
Closest trek to Kathmandu, Tamang and Sherpa villages, and a real community feel. Quieter than the big two and easy to add on. Great for a one-week trip.

Best trek for beginners?
Ghorepani Poon Hill (4 days) or Langtang Valley (7 days). Both achievable with normal fitness and big mountain views.
Best short trek (under a week)?
Poon Hill (4 days) or Tamang Heritage Trail (7 days) — both fly/drive-close and light on altitude risk.
Want it quiet?
Manaslu Circuit and Nar-Phu are restricted, permit-controlled, and far less crowded — same Himalaya, fewer selfie sticks. Best for experienced trekkers wanting solitude.
